We are interested in product ideas that fall into the following categories:

Water Use

We are very interested in ideas related to conservation, reuse, filtering, collection, and provision of water, our most precious resource.

We are in California but the issues are global and we want to help introduce products that help solve important water-related problems.

Physical and Occupational Therapy

We believe that therapy is an underdeveloped market category that could benefit greatly from some innovative ideas. The neighborhood physical therapist still uses pretty basic tools, including standard exercise equipment, rubber bands, and yoga balls. There is significant opportunity in isolating muscle groups and particular modes of therapy that can benefit both the patient and the therapist.

Aging Population

With the cresting of the wave of baby boomers in the U.S., a very strong product category is Products for an Aging Population. This includes all aspects of life, from convenience to medical devices to travel and family products. Subcategories and problem areas include obesity, vision, physical therapy, pet products, self-diagnostics, and all kinds of assistive devices.

Sports / Recreation

We think there are a lot of innovative and interesting products that can be brought to market in the area of sports, fitness, and outdoor recreation. We're particulatly interested in mechanical devices with sensors and microcontrollers that become compelling products.

Industrial Products

Product ideas that solve industrial problems in material handling, automation, packaging, transportation, or related areas are of interest to us at Inventor Labs. We have one successful product in material handling already in Fork Level.

Sustainability

Sustainability is more like a theme than it is a category of products, but we especially like ideas that contribute to a sustainable, ecologically balanced world. Not all of our products will achieve this, and we aren't exclusively a "green" products company, but it is definitely a strong bias.

Sustainability is also a design concept that can drive choices of materials and processes that are inherently sustainable and renewable.

Intellectual Property
